Film Office to Collaborate with Pennsylvania State Film Office to Attract Productions and Create Jobs
WILKES-BARRE, PA – July 15, 2024 – The Wilkes-Barre Metro Film Office proudly announces its that it is supporting Pennsylvania’s commitment to expanding the film industry in the region..
Film Office Founder and CEO Thom Greco and Project Manager Joe Rovinsky, MS are committed to promoting the region and growing the film industry by leveraging local resources and talents. “The Wilkes-Barre metro area has a tremendous amount to offer the film community,” says Greco. “We aim to attract production projects that will create jobs and bring new families to our area, boosting our local economy.”
Rovinsky states “We are thrilled to expand our partnership with the state film office to catalyze economic growth through dynamic film production. The Pennsylvania Film Production Tax Credit has been a game-changer in attracting filmmakers to our state. We are determined to leverage this opportunity to bring substantial film projects to Wilkes-Barre, boosting our local economy and creating vibrant job opportunities.”
Thom Greco, a local businessman with deep roots in the entertainment industry, has a storied history that includes his childhood role in the Paramount film The Molly Maguires and his work bringing top-tier entertainment to regional venues.
The Wilkes-Barre Metro Film Office operates under the Wilkes-Barre Metropolitan Development Corporation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Film Office is actively seeking additional board members from the industry and community to join this all-volunteer organization and support its mission.
